We have often had 60 seeders or more on the DivX version of this movie that I put up as a torrent some months ago, with many thousands of completions, thank goodness, now accomplished.<br /><br />We hope that all will see the benefit of switching to this DVD torrent instead as it is a small enough sized folder, yet has so much more in benefits to offer.<br /><br />All extras have been maintained on the DVD however English 5.1 is the only audio option included for you.<br /><br />Sense and sensibility looks at British culture in a useful way as to bring people to better think about how it is that they articulate on matters.<br /><br />Never to lose sight of substance we must of course always be completely concerned with all the substantive issues that are involved and in how it is they are dealt with and whether justice is in fact rightly seen through in each of the instances looked at in the stories that are being told.<br /><br />There is a movie trailer for "the remains of the day", "Howards end" etc and most interestingly, we also have included for you the speech by Ms. Emma Thompson at the golden globe awards ceremony. Very interesting indeed! Not to make too much of this point, however she does say to us in her speech that she feels more inderstood by the director of the movie, referred to as a man of \'foreign extraction" than she says she feels is true of her own understanding of herself. suggesting a common bond perhaps in some patterns of thinking perhaps or some ideas of the world even! who is to tell, we aren\'t mind readers after all1<br /><br /><br />This is a lovely lovely picture and great sound too. If you are an Emma Thompson fan or even Hugh Grant for that matter, or Jane Austen certainly, this DVD is something you should be in one, I suggest and hopefully we might expect you to help us seed to others who might be like minded in this regard.<br /><br /><br />Only 1.8 gigs! Sense and Sensibility is a novel by the English novelist Jane Austen. Published in 1811, it was the first of Austen's novels to be published, under the pseudonym "A Lady". The novel has been adapted for film and television a number of times, the two most recent being the 1995 movie directed by Ang Lee and the 2008 BBC television version adapted by Andrew Davies.
The story revolves around Elinor and Marianne, two daughters of Mr. Dashwood by his second wife. They have a younger sister, Margaret, and an older half-brother named John. When their father dies, the family estate passes to John, and the Dashwood women are left in reduced circumstances. The novel follows the Dashwood sisters to their new home, a cottage on a distant relative's property, where they experience both romance and heartbreak. The contrast between the sisters' characters is eventually resolved as they each find love and lasting happiness. This leads some to believe that the book's title describes how Elinor and Marianne find a balance between sense and sensibility in life and love.

PLOT SUMMARY:
Deftly setting the stage in late 18th-century rural England, pic briskly delineates the suddenly reduced circumstances of widow Dashwood (Gemma Jones) and her three lovely daughters after the death of her husband. By law, the vast estate in which they live must pass to the deceased's son by a previous marriage , who moves in with his snobbish wife, Fanny, and leaves the female brood to make do on a measly 500 pounds per year.
Eldest daughter Elinor (Emma Thompson) is the sensible one, a bright, if emotionally stunted, woman widely regarded as an incipient spinster. Middle daughter Marianne (Kate Winslet), in her late teens, is quite the opposite, a reckless romantic who can't abide her sister's restrained propriety. Little sister Margaret (Emile Francois) is an 11-year-old tomboy who spends most of her time in her treehouse avoiding the adults.
They are finally provided with a suitable, if cramped, cottage by a cousin, but not before they meet Fanny's shyly charming brother, Edward (Hugh Grant), who establishes a strong rapport with Elinor. But just as it appears that he may propose, Edward is dispatched by Fanny to London, leaving Elinor utterly in the dark about their future.
Setting up in their new abode, the women are reliant for their social lives on the boisterous, conspiratorial Sir John Middleton (Robert Hardy) and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jennings (the irrepressible Elizabeth Spriggs). The wealthy, brooding, middle-aged Col. Brandon (Alan Rickman) comes to call, but Marianne finds her romantic dreams come to life in the person of the dashing John Willoughby (Greg Wise), who, in highest melodramatic style, appears on horseback to rescue the injured girl in the heath and literally sweeps her off her feet.
